The BPA had a great day on Saturday, May 20, when a group of stalwart volunteers, led by Professor Eric Olson, removed infestations of Garlic Mustard and Japanese Knotweed, and made impressive progress in removing Oriental Bittersweet along the east bank of the pond. We are grateful as well to Commissioner Bob DeRubeis and Dave Mandatori of the Parks & Recreation Department. Mr. Mandatori organized a second group to repaint the railings along the Bullough Park edge of the site. The bank is looks better, and is better, with fewer invasives and spruced-up railings. Stay tuned for future invasive pull volunteer opportunities...
